Yarding: 530

Following the excellent rains there was the largest crowd of buyers we have seen at Dubbo for some time. It was a good quality yarding with a good selection of both steer and heifer weaners along with a few lots of cows and calves.

There were also a few pens of PTIC cows and
dry cows yarded. The bulk of the buying support came from locals along with fair interest from central tableland buyers.

With around 60mm of rain in most districts and keeping in line with the much stronger physical market, the market was considerably dearer in all sections.

The steer weaners sold from $455 for very young Angus calves to $1,310/head for Angus steers in good condition.
The steer weaners sold from 360c to 631c/kg. A few pens of steer yearlings sold from $1,020 to $1,280/head.
The heifer weaners sold from $435 for young crossbreds to $1,255 for top quality Santa Gertrudis heifers.
The heifer weaners sold from 290c to 620c/kg. A single pen of Charolais heifer yearlings sold from $1,250/head or 342c/kg.

Cows and calves sold from $2,100 for Charolais cross cows to $2,490/unit for good quality Angus cows with large weaners at foot. PTIC cows sold from $1,530 to $1,690 while dry cows sold from $820 to $1590/head.
