Substantial rainfall around the region increased buyer confidence and reduced numbers at today’s prime cattle sale where prices were as much as 20 cents a kilogram dearer compared to last week’s sale.
Today’s sale offered just 1375 head, down almost 800 on last week’s sale.
Highlights include young cattle to trade making up to 308c/kg, while feeder cattle were up to 20c/kg dearer. Feeder steers sold to 302c/kg while the heifer offering sold to 281c/kg.
Young cattle to the restockers were also dearer, with the young steers making from 170c to 305c and the young heifers sold from 128c to 246c/kg.
