PRIME SHEEP AND LAMB REPORT
10/02/2020

Yarding: 5801

With up to 100mm of fantastic rain, numbers were back by 10,600. It was a good quality yarding with some top pens of very well finished heavy weight lambs off grain though there were only limited numbers of trade weights.
There were also the expected light weights yarded.
Most of the regular buyers were in attendance and operating.
Light weight lambs to the processors were up to $18 dearer with the 12kg to 18kg 2 scores selling from $115 to $168/head. Trade lambs were $10 to $14 dearer, with the new season lambs selling from $160 to $200 while the trade weight old lambs sold from $169 to $205/head to average from 865c to 895c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs were $10 dearer with the over 24kg 4 scores selling from $210 to $274/head.
Restocker lambs were $12 dearer selling from $75 to $130/head. Hoggets sold to $214/hd.
It was a mixed yarding of mutton where most grades were $6 to $10/head cheaper. Merino ewes sold from $96 to $167 while crossbred ewes sold from $88 to $220/head.
There was solid support from the restockers who paid from $100 to $150 for crossbred ewes and $149 and $150/head for Merino ewes.
