Bobby calves make 700c/kg

It was an excellent quality yarding with good numbers of prime vealers, yearlings, grown steers and heifers.
The bulk of the cows in the yarding were also prime.
A full field of buyers competed solidly with particularly strong interest from the backgrounders.
Young cattle to the trade were up to 12c dearer with prime vealers selling to 448c/kg. The prime steer yearlings sold from 385c to 425c while the prime heifer yearlings sold from 370c to 426c/kg.
Feeder cattle were 7c to 12c dearer with the feeder steers selling from 373c to 434c/kg.
The feeder heifers sold from 363c to 423c/kg. Steer and heifer yearlings to the restockers were up to 12c dearer with the steers making from 413c to 463c while the restocker heifer yearlings sold from 426c to 446c/kg.
Steer weaners to the restockers were also dearer selling from 410c to 568c while the heifer weaners made from 400c to 452c/kg. Bobby calves to the restockers sold from 605c to 700c/kg.
Grown steers were firm while the grown heifers were 5c/kg cheaper. Prime grown steers sold from 340c to 391c while the grown heifers made from 335c to 382c/kg. The well covered heavy weight cows were firm while the secondary cows sold 4c to 8c/kg cheaper.
Cows that were of 2 and 3 score sold from 265c to 295c and the prime heavy weight cows made from 297c to 320c to average 307c/kg.
Restocker cows sold to 321c and heavy weight bulls made to 345c/kg.
