Yarding: 19,000
It was a mostly plain quality yarding with once again good numbers of young lambs being sold prematurely. There were odd pens of well finished trade weight new season lambs including a large consignment of good quality Aussie White Dorper cross lambs in from the far west.
There were very few heavy weights yarded.
Light weight lambs to the processors were $7 dearer with the 12kg to 18kg 2 scores selling from $90 to $128/head. Trade lambs were $6 to $10 dearer with the new season lambs selling from $135 to $185/head, to average between 760c and 790c/kg cwt.
Trade weight old lambs sold from $130 to $180/head. Heavy weight lambs were dearer with few to compare to in the previous sale. The heavy weight new season lambs sold to $198 while the over 24kg 4 score old lambs sold from $180 to $223/head.
Merino lambs were firm with the trade weights selling from $127 to $147/head. Restocker lambs were around firm with the better types selling from $95 to $138, while very young lambs sold down to $45/head. Hoggets sold to $210/head.
Most grades were represented in a mixed yarding of mutton where most grades were $10 to $15/head cheaper. Merino ewes sold from $45 to $175 while crossbred ewes sold from $78 to $207/head.
White Dorpers sold to $203/head. Carcass prices ranged from 550c to 590c/kg cwt.
The restockers were active on some plainer lines of Merino ewes paying from $39 to $113/head.
