Yarding: 19,839
Once again there were large numbers of very light young lambs suitable for the restockers with only limited numbers of well finished trade lambs throughout.
There were only a few pens of heavy weights yarded.
Not all the regular buyers were present with a couple of regulars still absent.
Light weight lambs to the processors were $8 cheaper with the 12-18kg 2 scores selling from $80 to $136/head. Trade lambs were firm with the new season lambs selling from $150 to $186/head to average from 755c to 800c/kg cwt. Trade weight old lambs sold from $133 to $192/head.
The few pens of heavy weights were also around firm with the over 24kg 4 scores selling from $195 to $225/head.
A pen of trade weight Merino lambs sold for $136 while a pen of heavy weights sold for $171/head.
Restocker lambs were $5 to $8 cheaper with the better lambs selling from $84 to $136 while very young lambs sold from $48 to $76/head. Hoggets sold to $190/head.
Most grades were represented in a mixed yarding of mutton where the light weight sheep were firm to $3 cheaper and the better medium and heavy weight sheep were $6 to $10/head easier.
Merino ewes sold from $70 to $176 while the crossbred ewes sold from $88 to $202/head. Merino wethers sold to $196 while crossbred wethers topped at $200/head.
Carcase prices for the better sheep averaged from 570c to 610c/kg cwt.
The restockers were very active on Merino ewes in forward condition which sold from $110 to $138/head. The ewes are destined for centre pivot irrigators and
the feedlot.
